Earlier this year Jodie and Ella attended an online training hosted by Queensland University of Technology that focuses on developing self regulation support for children using music, movement, rhythm and beat. This research based program looks at the neuroscience of beat synchronisation and the cognitive benefits of coordinated movement, music participation and relaxation through movement and music.
Each session starts with warm up listening and body movement experiences, using tapping sticks and ends with a listening and relaxation component. The program in its entirety supports school readiness, mental health and decreased regulatory problems.
