Christmas in Coriedale Drive

The children have once again loved making Christmas cards with special messages and delivering them to letterboxes in surrounding streets. We love spreading Christmas cheer and meeting people and pets in our local community.

Life in Water

As part of learning about sustainability we had Adam visit us with his rockpools and ocean creatures. Adam talked to us about all the living things that live in rockpools. We saw coral, sea sponges, sea cucumbers, star fish and hermit crabs.

Philosophy Review

We recently have been reviewing our preschool philosophy and consulted the children as part of this process. Children collaborated to share ideas about our preschool and what it means to them.

Celebrating Myanmar Culture and Diwali

Bernadette visited our preschool to provide the children with a Myanmar cultural experience of cultural dress and using Thanaka paste to paint the face and body.

Lets do Yoga

Each Thursday we have been doing Yoga sessions with Jesse from Shining Souls Yoga. Jesse uses story, props and song and dance to teach well-being and stretching to our children.

Child Safety Week

We had important conversations with the children throughout ‘Child Safety Week’ learning about consent and permission. We read books and watched a video from “Daniel Morcombe Keeping Kids Safe Foundation”.

Indigenous Literacy Day

We celebrated ‘Indigenous Literacy Day’, a day celebrating indigenous culture, stories, songs, language and literacy. Children participated in an art experience interacting with indigenous symbols, books and aboriginal flag colours.

KOMETS Sky Circus Show

Komet Sky and her circus show came to visit us during science week to learn about our world and solar system. Komet was an entertaining and funny clown who came to teach us about the solar system and the different properties of the planets in our solar system

Our nature walks continue this term so that children experience our community and environment each day beyond our gate. Together we are learning about place, the interconnectedness of living things

Reconciliation week

Together we explored ideas around Reconciliation and our first nations people for Reconciliation Week. The children were involved in discussions about belonging, storytelling and home culture to enhance their understanding.

Watungaa Dreaming

Rainbow eagle come to join us at our preschool to present his Watungaa Dreaming experience. We reflected about about our earth, Australian animals, about picking up our rubbish and about the different elements in the earth around us.

Small and Mighty Incursion

We had a special visit from Adam’s Wildlife Encounters, who brought in his Small and Mighty Show to teach us about insects and invertebrates.

Police Visit – promoting child safety

The kids learnt many different things about each other and overall really enjoyed all the activities that they took part in for harmony day.

Sharing Brayside Preschool Experiences

The culture that Janette fosters at Brayside is all about providing a safe, fun, enjoyable environment for children to flourish. The group of women that work at Brayside are not kids straight out of school looking for a job. They are women who have typically had their own kids and choose to work at Brayside due to their love of utilising their teaching qualifications and caring for children in a great preschool.
