As part of our language program we painted a Bindarray (river) with Aunty Virginia and learnt some Gumbaynggirr words while we were creating. We used a mix of acrylic and watercolour paints with a range of brushes and eye droppers to apply the watercolour.
We also drew Australian animals that lived in or around the Bindarray on fabric to add to our design backdrop.
Working with Aunty Virginia is a great way to incorporate learning a new language through the children’s play and art making.
