At Brayside we celebrated Holi Festival on the 10th March. Holi is a traditional Hindu Festival which celebrates the beginning of spring, colours and friendship. We looked at images from this festival and heard children from India speaking about celebrating Holi in their country. Later we gathered outside on the big round mat and the children applied Holi coloured dyes to each other. We talked about what friendship means to us and how to be a good friend to others. Through this experience children were learning about diversity, culture and traditions to build new understandings of their world.
