Reptile Awareness and Safety
Recently we had a visit from RESTA to teach us about reptile awareness and safety. Our philosophy highlights the value of nature play and this session helped to prepare our children for play in nature and keeping themselves safe. The children were amazed to see and touch some beautiful reptiles at preschool. Dave brought in a goanna, an olive python, children’s python, jungle python, a bearded dragon and others. We felt their cool skin and even had a chance to hold a baby saltwater crocodile. Most children had a pat of each animal but some were a little hesitant with the larger snakes!
