Our Management

An Incorporated Association

Brayside Community Preschool became an incorporated association in 1995. In payment of the registration fee each family becomes a member of the association.

This means that as a member of the association you have voting rights at each Annual General Meeting and Special Meeting that is called over the year. You can nominate to be part of the management committee. You also have the right to forward your ideas and concerns to the elected management committee for consideration. The management committee are elected to represent the interests of all members of the association.

The Organisational Structure

In accordance with our rules of association parents are to make up the majority of our management committee. Community members can also join our organisation with the payment of a membership fee and completion of an application form. Brayside draws on the energies and varied expertise of community volunteers to support the efficient management of the organisation. The director supports the committee in an ex-officio capacity on the committee and completes the daily management tasks which are delegated by the committee. Representatives of the management committee are elected annually at the Annual General Meeting held in February.

Our Christian Ethos

The organisation has a Christian focus. Committee members commit to the Christian ethos in their decision making as they work towards our mission statement.

Brayside has an anti-bias approach to its program provision in accordance with government regulation. We invite all members of our community to participate in our program. We identify the inclusion of a range of Christian materials and celebrations in our program content along with a meaningful representation of the various cultures found in our local community.

A Pastoral Advisor

A minister from one of the local Christian churches is nominated each year to serve in an ex‑officio capacity. They advise the management committee in their decision making and are also available to meet with and support the families of Brayside. If you would like to seek advice or prayer support from our pastoral advisor please see the entrance pin board for contact details or see the director to arrange a meeting.
