This year Brayside Community Preschool have begun to make decisions that help us as a community to save our planet, to become more environmentally friendly. We have installed water tanks that now provide our toilets and gardens with rain water. We have also installed high energy saving lighting throughout the preschool and have replaced our hot water service with a new system that uses solar energy. We have also replaced our very old refrigerator with a new high energy saving unit which will certainly help lower not only our energy levels but our running expenses. To add to these wonderful changes we are currently installing fans on the veranda area and in our foyer to assist with cooling our rooms and creating more comfortable learning spaces. We have achieved all this through our Energy Saving Grants which we gained from the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage and the NSW Office of Environment, Climate Change and Water Fund.
